I am not a Catholic nor am I a religious man but I do love the sign of the cross.
In fact I often make the sign as it does remind me of the following:
- That God my Father is Creator of all and without Him I would not exist!
- God the Son, the only begotten Son, the ultimate sacrifice. Because of The Son I have a second chance and because of Him I have life. This is the ultimate love.
- Then there is the Holy Spirit. Here is my Counselor, Teacher and Comforter. He counsels me as to right and wrong. He opens my eyes and teaches me as well as shows me the way. He will comfort me in my darkest hours, in my lonely nights and in my losses.
In the sign of the cross is My Creator, my Saviour and my Comforter and this means so much to me.
Each day it reminds me where I am from, who I am and where I am going.
To me it is not a matter of religion it is a matter of what I believe.
The sign of the cross therefore to me is pretty awesome!
